I’ve built my repertoire of skills with variety of innovative companies where I’ve not only been branding specialist and graphic artist, but also copy writer, product designer, project manager, marketing planner and web developer, amongst a myriad of other roles. Comfortable following direction, and confident taking the reins I’m not only used to wearing many hats, I thrive on it, and delight in a problem solved with the whole team on board.
My work is my passion and my proactive approach to providing striking solutions results in not only versatile and visually pleasing artwork, but in targeted messages delivered in the most effective way possible. I have a proven history of securing valuable clients and maintaining low overheads, maximising the value of each project. Experience allows me to tailor a targeted approach to suit not only the current requirements, but to design with the future in mind, enabling valuable investments to expand with the company vision. I deliver excellent work on time and within budget meeting not only the specifications of the brief, but also covering the details nobody knew to ask about. After six years building a fantastic brand with Zano Controls, delivering above and beyond the brief and preparing them for the journey ahead, I’m now seeking a new challenge.
August 2010 - Present:
Graphic Designer at Zano Controls.
I’ve been the only creative with Zano since the company’s inception. From delivering the first logo in 2010 to launching their first e-commerce site this Autumn, I’ve helped build the brand from a complete unknown into an admired and emulated industry leader.
Artwork for catalogues, packaging, advertising and direct marketing materials is daily fare. I have created an enviable photo library of creative imagery and product photography. I’ve project managed, designed and built websites, including a private resource for wholesale clients as well as reaching a whole new customer base with the fresh new online store.
Copy writing for everything from sales documents and catalogues to film scripts and data sheets has taught me a great deal about inter-departmental communication. My work appears across all print and digital spaces including two successful monthly newsletters as well as some of the most popular electrical trade publications in the UK.
Introducing Zano to social media in 2013, I implemented a hugely successful strategy to expand the company profile. I grew the brand presence amassing thousands of engaged, industry relevant followers and #TeamZano is an incredibly successful campaign, bringing the business closer to customers and sparking impressive engagement within the electrical industry. Some of our most exciting content contributors were converted through this route.
Zano Controls enjoyed over 40% growth in the last two years alone, also receiving numerous industry awards. As a disruptive tech company challenging the status quo, a strong image has been vital. Some of Zano’s biggest clients have been won on our design solutions anda large part of Zano’s success is attributed to my unique design and fresh approach.
Freelance Graphic Designer
August 2010 - Present
Fresh from graduation I began work immediately, and have worked with some fantastic new brands from the ground up. Branding is one of my absolute passions and I have been fortunate enough to secure some contracts which have allowed me to be involved right from naming the company through to the lauch of the brand. Designing everything from logos, uniforms and packaging to websites and social media presence affords an opportunity to present a brand with powerful unity and presence. Applying a comprehensive approach also allows me to cultivate the brand’s “voice” and build a following so thet new business owners are able to take the reins and follow that lead. I offer social media training where required so that precious funds can be used elsewhere with in-house marketing also providing that valuable authenticity and establishing the business as trustworthy and professional.

Photography has alway been an exciting medium for me, and since my move into the design industry it has proved invaluable. I’m currently building a stock image portfolio purely for pleasure, and have worked on weddings and portraits. For everything from creative imagery for social media to product photography, my handy DSLR has been my hero and friend.

Establishing my own niche has been natural progression of my design career and experience with start-ups. For the most part it is still a simple passion project focusing on fresh design and ethically sourced goods as well as unique contemporary art. The company is also growing in new ways with requests for website/web shop builds and branding on the increase as well as packaging design and photography services.
SKILLS & PROFICIENCIES
An apprenticeship in sewing and pattern cutting with a renowned seamstress focussing on custom ball gowns and cocktail dresses for British Army events provided a very exciting introduction into fashion. Experience has made me an intuitive clothing designer, favouring bridal wear & tailoring for all sizes. I rarely take commissions now, but when I do it’s for something, or someone, really special.
Service Team Leader
Front of house, barista, food preparation and menu planning. Managing shifts with a 20 strong team, responsibility for ordering, stock levels, and staff training as well as front line customer service. This was a fun position in a lively environment with flexible hours that worked very well around my then young family, and also taught me a great deal about customer experience and managing a diverse team of people.
